Single Upgrades Without Energy Assessment

Heat pumps, solar panels, attic insulation, smart thermostats, and appliances don't require an energy assessment. You can complete these individually and still receive rebates—just ensure you work with participating contractors where required.

Oil-Heated Homes: Additional Federal Support Available

If you heat with oil and have median household income or below, the federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program provides up to $10,000 (or up to $15,000 in participating provinces) to switch to an electric heat pump. Ontario recently joined as a co-delivery partner, potentially offering combined support up to $25,000 for eligible households.

It's also important to know you cannot participate if you previously received rebates from HER, HER+, or other Enbridge Gas or Save on Energy programs. Heat pump rebates are for first-time installations only, homes with existing heat pump systems don't qualify.
